When the audio changes, the video changes; all completely automated and picked randomly by the program Max. This is a film that never has to end and a story that will never conclude.

2 groups of videos and 2 groups of sounds are overlayed with one another with volume effecting opacity and audio change effecting video change. the videos are various film leaders and the audio clips are: a distant train, a film projector, the needle hitting a record before any sound plays, a chorus warming up, ekg monitor in the ER as I wait to be seen. In the video, there is no story, just the leader before a film begins. Each piece of audio stops before the “action”: the film hasn’t played, the record hasn’t begun, the train has yet to arrive, the full songs have not been sung and the doctor has not seen me. This patch is just the anticipation for an event that, in the confines of the performance, will never happen. This is a patch that will never have a story “begin”, it starts and stops only in the limbo of anticipation.
